In my opinion, a computer software budget is the absolute, best possible choice for anyone looking to get his/her finances under control.
Although it is more complex than any of the other budgets I've discussed, I don't want that to scare you away.
With the advances in computer technology nowadays, the computer software is very, very user friendly, and simply uses many of the techniques required when properly keeping your checkbook.
If you don't currently know how to keep your checkbook up to date, this type of software is a must!
The software keeps all of your financial information organized for you, which makes creating a computer software budget a breeze.
Furthermore, the computer software also enables you to simply and easily reconcile your bank statements each and every month.
Now, I know that you are saying that since I am a CPA, this type of computer software certainly is easy for me to use, but it won't be for you.
I'm here to tell you, however, the computer software companies have done everything possible to make this process simple for the average person as well.
Throughout my career in the accounting world, I've come across several different computer softwares used for keeping your personal finances.
My personal recommendation, however, is Quicken. Quicken is now available to be downloaded straight to your computer.
I personally use Quicken's business version, called QuickBooks, for all my business accounting needs.
An added benefit of the online version is that you won't lose all of your financial information if your computer crashes, your house catches on fire, or (like me) you are a victim of a burglary.
Microsoft used to have a personal financial software called Microsoft Money, but I don't believe Microsoft is continuing to produce that software.
There are also numerous other accounting and financial types of software on the market, but I truly feel you can't go wrong with Quicken.
It's been my experience, that Quicken has tremendous customer support, as well as several tutorials within the software itself should you need additional help.
Plus, as always, feel free to contact me if you need assistance.siu
So if you have not already, at least try the FREE online version of Quicken to see whether or not you like it.
Then, get working on your personal budget, and get your household finances under control.
I wish you the best of luck, and I'm sure you'll appreciate all the wonderful features Quicken has to offer.
To Your Success...
